Fun at the Scholastic Book Fair!

Lois Fordyce —

This week, the yearly OAS Book Fair took place. For a span of five days, a section of our library was transformed into a bookstore, allowing students to immerse themselves in the enchanting realm of literary treasures.

Clifford, The Big Red Dog, Scholastic's official mascot, made appearances in different classes, engaging in photo sessions, and wagging his tail, greatly pleasing the students!

A contest was organized for students in Years 1-3, where they were encouraged to design hats for the Fair. Imagination flowed freely, feathers danced in the air, and incredible creations emerged adorned with pom poms!

Our week of fun was rounded off with the annual Dress Up Parade, held this morning.  Classes in Years 1-6, as well as a group of intrepid Year 7/8's,  paraded around the hall, displaying their flair and creativeness in awesome costumes and hat creations.  It was fabulous to see, and the standard of the entries was amazing.  Thank you to all who entered!  The competition was expertly judged by Mrs Kelly and Mr Schasching, who had an extremely difficult job in choosing.

Our winners for the 2023 Dress Up Day were:

Mrs Kelly - Heidi R
