Congratulations to all the senior players who played their hearts out throughout the week to finish a credible 3rd place at SISS.

On day 4 we started with a tough semi-final against Queen  Charlotte College, who went through to win the grade, losing 48-12.

We bounced back to dominate our playoff vs Lawrence Area School 38-18 to earn 3rd place. This means we will be promoted to B grade for 2023. We have only been in the top three positions about three times in the last twenty years and for this young team to earn 3rd place this year is very exciting. 

Congratulations to Cailey Hollard and Ashleigh Lawler who were named as talented players for 2022. We are very proud of you girls who have both been in this senior team for five  years. You have both contributed on and off the court and this is really appreciated by us all. We wish you well in your future netball endeavors. Our other Year 13 player Jess Gillespie also had a fantastic tournament. Your tenacity and presence on the court was outstanding and we wish you all the best also. Thank you girls, you will all be missed. 

Special mention to Cailey, Ashleigh and Hillary Cooper our team captains who helped with our team building both pre and at tournament. Your leadership was invaluable. Thank you. 

Huge huge thanks to Lisa Hollard who has helped coach this team. Your input and organisation has been appreciated by everyone over many years. Not only helping coach, you have been cook, manager, fundraiser, medic and a mum! 

Thanks to Kerri Booth for coming along this year. Your inspiration and encouragement was fantastic, thank you so much. Thanks to Claudia Inch, guest coach, for sharing your knowledge with the girls. Your sideline support was awesome!  

Lastly, thanks to all the parents and whanau who travelled down to support us. Your sideline support was exceptional and really helped the girls to lift at crucial times. 

It was a super tournament and I am so proud of all the girls who played to an exceptional level all week.  I don't know how many tips and intercepts this team got as I lost count! This was definitely our strength along with our 'calm' heads and teamwork. Having an umpire approach us after a game to congratulate the players on their attitudes and positivity was a credit to you all.
