Smile - it can change the world!

Mike Hart —

Week 4, Term 4

Kia ora koutou,

Today in the assembly I talked to our students about the power of a smile, given this term's focus is kia manahau - being positive.

When I think about positivity I think about smiling. When I think about smiling I think about happiness because let’s face it, when we’re smiling we are normally having a pretty good time! It is a real treat to come to our workplace every day and be overwhelmed by the smiling faces we get to see.

It is over the next few weeks that we will be confirming our staffing for 2021. We have made some progress this week by appointing a number of positions. In 2021 our Deaning (positive behaviour and wellbeing) team will consist of:

  • Year 11-13 Dean - Miss Paula Christensen
  • Year 9-10 Dean - Mr Reese Kean
  • Year 7-8 Dean - Mrs Claudia Faulkner

We will keep you up to date as we work through any further changes for next year.

Our year 11-13 students enter into their last week of timetabled classes next week before they start their examinations. We know they have been working hard and we wish them the best for the upcoming examinations.

Finally, it is a good time to mark in your calendars our formal prizegiving dates:

  • Year 11-13 Senior Prizegiving, 7.30pm 11 November
  • Year 7-10 Prizegiving 1pm 9th December
  • Year 1-6 Prizegiving 9.30 am 9th December

Ngā mihi
