World Vision 40 hour Challenge and other ways we can help.....

Rachel Campbell —

There are many ways we can contribute to World Vision this year.

In the coming weeks there will be a couple of different activities running to help support our fundraising efforts towards the World Vision 40-hour Challenge. This includes a non-uniform day, a coin trail, and a disco (for Years 1-6).

For those keen to participate in the 40 Hour Challenge, signing up is easy. Pop along to the website https://www.worldvision.org.nz/connect/40-hour-challenge/ Sign up under your name then select Oxford Area School. Fundraising is done through this online platform. Decide on your individual challenge then ask family and friends to sponsor you. The challenge begins on 21st-23rd June.

A reminder that for this year's 40-hour challenge, World Vision is fundraising for ‘regreening our future’. In countries like Timor Leste, they are going to turn up the underground forests that have been destroyed due to floods, droughts, and storms. Doing this will reduce roughly one-quarter of the world's greenhouse gases in three years. This would be a big win for us against climate change.

Non-uniform day:

A non-uniform day will be held on Friday the 14th. Bring a gold coin to support. We will also be running a coin trail on this day, please send along any spare change you have.

Disco:

A disco will be held for the year 1-6 students on Wednesday the 19th of June at lunchtime. This is a donation to enter.
