Canterbury Primary Schools Cross Country Championships

Julie Evans —

On Wednesday 30 June we had four students who competed in the Canterbury Primary Schools Cross Country Championship in the Rakahuri Zone team.

Alice McLauchlan (Year 8), Paige Wakelin-Noble (Year 7), Nathaniel Sillars (Year 7) and Tabitha Ebel-Wilson qualified at the Rakahuri Zone event to compete in this amazing opportunity. There were over 1,000 runners from across Canterbury and the West Coast who competed in this event at Halswell Quarry. They all enjoyed the experience and gave their best efforts with all four finishing in the top half of their race with at least 180 + runners each.

Special congratulations to Paige and Tabitha who finished in the top third of their race. Huge thanks to the whānau who transported and supported the students in their races. Well done to all runners a great achievement.
