Future Farmers Competition 2018

Eight contestants battled it out for the top prize of Future Farmer.

This year's entries were;

  • Cameron Rowe (Year 10)
  • Harrison Shore (Year 10)
  • Jacob Paulin (Year 10)
  • Shaugn Kilgour (Year 10)

On Wednesday the 8th of August the contestants competed in the Future Farmers competition. This involved a day event where they spent 20 min at 8 practical stations; First aid, Tractor skills, Fencing, Seed id, Goat handling, Job interview, Personal budgeting and Sewing. The students were scored at each station and these scores were brought forward to the night event. 

The evening event, held at the Town Hall, involved the contestants going through a Farming and School History quiz and then each presented a 2 - 3 minute presentation about a farm animal of their choice. The presentations ranged from Wiltshire sheep, Farm dogs through to a challenging presentation by Amanda around the future of farming and the influences of science.
