Term One has provided multiple competitive swimming opportunities for Years 5-8 students.

Eyre Cluster Swimming - 22 February 2019 - Dudley Pool

On Friday 22 February Mrs Evans took ten Year 5-8 students to the Eyre Cluster Swimming event held at Dudley pool in Rangiora. The swimmers competed in events against West Eyreton, View Hill and Swannanoa as they had qualified at the Oxford Area School event. We had some nervous students, as this was their first time competing at this level. With positive support and some mental strategies to use from Mrs Evans, they all represented our school proudly and all gained pleasing results. Thanks to Tasha Galway for timekeeping and Julie Tizzard helping with transport. The students who swam exceptionally qualified for the Rakahuri Zone Swimming event. Congratulations to -

Rakahuri Zone Swimming SPorts - Dudley Pool, Rangiora
12 March 2019

On Tuesday 12 March Mrs Evans had the pleasure  of taking  seven students to the Rakahuri Zone Swimming event at Dudley Pool in Rangiora. This was a step up competing against half of the schools across North Canterbury so the excitement was high! Thanks to Mrs Evans and Tasha Galway who had to timekeep, and to Julia Graham for helping with transport. We were all cheering our Oxford swimmers who swam really well across all of their events. It was a real honour to be at this event, so the students were keen to achieve their best. 

Congratulations to the following four students who qualified and will represent Oxford and Rakahuri Zone at the Canterbury Primary Schools swimming event at the Selwyn Aquatic Centre in Rolleston on Thursday 4 April.
