Last Wednesday we (Alyssa East and Devon Cross) had the opportunity to go to a leadership breakfast titled ‘Together We Lead’, this was run by the Waimakariri District Council youth development team.

This was located at the Food of Desire Cafe in Rangiora. At the Breakfast we were able to hear leadership stories from a panel of leaders from different Career Backgrounds including the Mayor Dan Gorden. The Breakfast was run as a Q and A session where we were able to ask questions about different aspects of leadership. One of the main focuses of the breakfast was servant leadership, as well as leadership values. We feel we have learned a lot of new skills from the panel to take away into our futures. We were also able to connect with other future leaders from around the Waimakariri district that we hope to work alongside in the future.
