Students support Cancer Society
Oxford Area School students were able to combine their artwork with the school's "caring" value recently when creating artwork for paper bags used by patients undergoing the rigours of cancer treatment.
The North Canterbury Centre of the Cancer Society approached schools to ask if they would be involved in creating designs for paper bags used by cancer patients to put their clothes and personal items into when changing into gowns for their treatment. The students were simply asked to create a design to be attached to the paper bags.
The bags were decorated by students each with their own individual message of caring to give the patients a moment of positivity and to know that they are supported in some small way. Some students created images with jokes, others wrote messages of encouragement while some simply created a beautiful image to look at and personalise each patient's bag.
Take a look at these wonderful artworks of inspiration and caring.
