Your teachers will have pointed this out but just to make sure, you can apply for the UC Science Summer Camp in December. Making the transition to University at the end of next year (time goes fast!) is a lot easier if you have some experience of what studying science is about and if you have had a taste of what University life feels like. The University of Canterbury says this about the summer camp: “During their visit, students will be completely immersed in UC life. They’ll get to experience the full scope of science on offer at UC – from lectures and lab work to field trips and the latest technologies. Of course, university life is not all about study. There will also be social activities –including experiencing the new and vibrant Christchurch CBD, movie night– and time to hang out with like minded students and get a feel for the campus.”.The Summer Camp runs 12 – 16 December 2020.Only 60 places are available.
