Welcome to Year 7 & 8 2021.

Lesley Inch —

We are looking forward to lots of fantastic learning experiences to add to the fantastic start we have had in 2021.

We have experienced Beach Education Day, Swimming sports, St John CPR and the Clued Up Camper module where we learnt about basic first response first aid skills.

Our teaching team comprises of:

Lesley Inch - I have been teaching at OAS for ten years. I have taught at every level and am thoroughly enjoying teaching and nurturing our Year 7 & 8's. I coach the school senior netball team and still play senior netball myself. I enjoy watching my children Katelyn, Nick, Claudia and Jacob playing their prospective sports Lawn Bowls, Rugby, Netball and Cricket.

Meghan Robb - Tēnā koutou, I am thrilled to be teaching at Oxford Area School and I am thoroughly enjoying working in the Year 7/8 team and with the awesome bunch of ākonga . I am passionate about sports and the outdoors and love finding new walks to do with my family and friends. I have really enjoyed learning more about OAS and the Oxford community and I look forward to the year ahead.

Claudia Faulkner - Kia ora koutou, this is my second year at OAS and I feel privileged to be working with our Year 7 and 8 tamariki again this year. I thoroughly enjoy teaching across all learning areas and supporting our students to achieve their aspirations and goals. I am an equestrian enthusiast and have a team of horses with who I compete across a variety of disciplines. I look forward to an exciting year ahead that is full of wonderful opportunities for our young people.

Julie Evans - Over many years of teaching, I have had experience across many levels, NE through to Year 10. I thoroughly enjoy being a homeroom teacher working with tamariki nurturing their individuality and strengths, and supporting them to overcome barriers they may have with their learning across different aspects of life- academic, musical, cultural, sporting and socially. I endeavour to develop and foster a team spirit within my homeroom so students feel valued and safe in our environment. When not at school, I enjoy family time with Ivan, Charlotte and Emily, gardening, reading, walking, coaching sport especially netball and basketball, or watching live sport or games on Sky Sport.

Ros Tavita - Nga mihi. I have been teaching at OAS in Y7/8 for several years now. This is a great age group. I enjoy the Performance Arts.

Please feel free to contact your homeroom teacher, for anything you wish to discuss. We are usually found in the Puaka space from 8.30 - 9.00 each day.

It has been great to reconnect with many students and we welcome our year 7's and many new students and their whanau to Oxford Area School.

We are currently planning for our upcoming camp and welcome hearing from any parents who wish to come along and support us. Please contact Lesley Inch lesley@oxford.school.nz if you can attend our camp Wed 17-19 March.

We look forward to meeting with many of you at goal setting meetings on Wednesday 3 March.

Ngā Mihi,

The Y7/8 team.
