New books back in the OAS Library.

Library Team —

Please bring back your books issued before Lockdown.

Letters are going out this week to families who have late books issued before Lockdown.  That's over 125 books missing which is expensive for the School to replace.  We would prefer to spend our budget on new books!  Please check bedrooms, under sofas, in bookshelves and in cars.  If the books are definitely lost, we will need to recover the cost to buy a replacement copy.  If they are damaged, please still return them as we have an expert repairer.

Just in front of the main library doors are 4 shelves of new books.  Students can reserve them immediately.

Here are some of our favourites:

Dozer the Fire Cat - R Prokop (picture book)

There's a huge fire in Nelson so all the family's most precious belongings are packed ready to evacuate, but Dozer is too busy playing. What happens next? Based on the 2019 fire in Pigeon Valley.

The Big Bad Wolf - A Blabey (Years 3 & above)

Book 9 of the Bad Guys series.  Cool pictures, easy and fun reading for those not quite ready for chapter books. And yes, we do have all the other books in the series.

Simply Irresistible French Desserts - C Le Ru (non-fiction)

Scrumptious cakes, biscuits and desserts which make your mouth water just reading the recipes.  This is one of 5 books penned by Christelle Le Ru.  Her other books are extremely popular with students of all ages and are already shelved in our cookery section.

Lady Helen & the Dark Days Club - A Goodman (Years 9 & above)

Set in London 1812, this is a great historical adventure with a strong female lead.  Lady Helen, just 18 yrs old, is pushed into a shadowy world while trying to act responsibly in Regency society. Great read for Black Dot readers.  Book 1 of 3. Recommended.

Finally, for those of you who love puzzle books, we have another 'Where's Wally' to keep you busy!

All available in the school library now.
