It's My Move Campaign
A Sport New Zealand Intiative.
Launched earlier this year by Sport New Zealand, the It's My Move Campaign is aimed at getting young people, in particular females, active.
The message behind the campaign is that any form of physical activity counts and actively promotes choice when it comes to physical activity opportunities.
This philosophy is closely aligned with our department which promotes the kaupapa that, "every move counts".
Whilst traditional models of sport may provide our young tamariki and rangatahi with physical activity opportunities it is vital that we acknowledge that there are a multitude of ways to be active and what matters most is that young people are active.
As we head into the winter season this mahi is more important than ever. Sit down with your tamariki and rangatahi at home and promote discussion around what they and your whanau can do to remain as active as possible over the winter months.

On a personal note, many thanks for the kind words and support I have recieved since accepting my new position at Rangiora High School. I will miss working across this wonderful Area School but know that I will see many of you on the rugby sidelines or around the local community.
All the best for the future - and remember that, "Every Move Counts".
