Lots of great things happening at school
Week 8 - updates on calendar changes
Kia ora koutou,
Amidst these difficult times, I have been very impressed by our students with their knowledge and sensibility. We are consistently reminding them that, particularly during this time, being positive and caring is especially important. I have really enjoyed this week walking around the school grounds and going through classes looking at what our students have been up to. I have seen curious critical thinking, creativity and strong collaboration as students explore new learnings. It was a pleasure to see students learning to fly fish, making lures, navigating jumps on their bikes, producing creative artworks, learning through play and communicating this through effective writing skills.
To date, we have postponed CASAFest (this is an event that meets the PM's threshold of 500+ participants when we include supporters and volunteers), Year 7 and 8 camp (we simply didn't have enough time to consult with those sending their young ones on camp) and the upcoming school production (being a community event it would attract 100+ including the audience meeting the new threshold provided by the PM). A number of events have been postponed or cancelled. The school calendar will reflect this.
