PCT Competition
Piper & Abby report on their time at the PCT Competition
On Monday the 27th of June Miss Lowen took eight students to Cowles Stadium to compete in the Blue Light Police PCT Competition.
PCT stands for physical competency test. Students who went were Piper Archbold, Ella Smith, Reuben Keats, Rzaiah Lucas-Fleming (Year 7 team) and the Year 8 team was Jacob Inch, Abby Taylor, Indi Ward and Logan Paulin. Both teams did really well. The Year 7 team got the Best Attitude Award - we were super impressed! We got a subway voucher and a cool rubber bangle. The kind of activities were really cool. There was a sausage sizzle, jump jam, dressing up in police uniforms and gear, we got to sit in the police car and the best one was the course. You had to climb walls and carry bags, wheel rubbish bins around; we had so much fun I think we all really liked it because it was a good opportunity. We also want to say thank you to Nicola Smith, Carol Murphie, Ben Ward and Miss Lowen for taking us - it was an amazing time.

Report on what we did and where we went.
On the 27th of May, a group of Year 7and 8s went to a competition called PCT at Cowles Stadium in Christchurch.
PCT stands for Police Confidence Test. It is basically an obstacle course, built for trainees who want to get into the Police Force.
It was a day that the Police ran, for Kids in teams of 4 to go around the course, working as a team.
Our team did alright. In the team was Jacob Inch, Logan Paulin, Indi Ward, and myself (Abby Taylor.) There was one obstacle called the wall, that our team spent more time than we should have. We all had to work together to get over it.
Then after your team had done the course there was a whole bunch of other activities. Mostly team building games. There was hip hop, ppe challenge, blind-folded cone finding, sprints, tarp folding, mine game, hula hoop challenge, and ball throwing challenge. My personal favorite was the hip hop. It was very up beat, and fun.
Once we had done the full rotation, we watched the top three teams go head to head, for the win. The winning team then got to go to Wellington for the next round. Kaiapoi North won the competition.
After the comp we went to Mcdonalds.
