Cycle Sense
Bec Hart - November 15, 2022
Day 1
Day 1 was about learning how to check that your bike and your helmet is safe and correctly fitted. Students learnt how to control the speed of their bike, make turns, hand signals and about the 5 l's. These skills were often done in a game situation. In the afternoon of Day 1, the students went out on the road and had a go at getting on their bike safely, stopping, and travelling a safe distance behind another cyclist.
Day 2
Day 2 was all about applying learning to a road setting. These things included giving way at an intersection, passing a parked car, turning left and right, turning onto a side road, turning onto a main road and stopping at an intersection.
These 2 days have been invaluable to everyone's growth as a cyclist on the road.
