Years 11-13 Key dates for Term 4

Sharyn Varcoe —

As you will already be aware, NZQA have made some changes to NCEA for 2021 to lessen the impact of COVID-19 restrictions on students. This has, in turn, impacted the end of year for our Year 11 to 13 students.

In consultation with students and staff we have worked to ensure that Term 4 supports our students' learning needs and their success in NCEA.

Years 11-13 Learning Conferences: Week 1, Term 4 via phone call.
During Week 1 of Term 4 you will receive a learning conference phone call from your young person's Learning Mentor. They will be able to provide you with next steps for each of your child's subjects to maximise their NCEA success. If you have questions that they cannot answer, subject teachers will follow up with another phone call.

Years 11-13 last day of term is Thursday 11th November.
This is an extension of our original date in recognition of the time spent without face to face learning this term. As the NCEA examination period starts on Monday, 22nd November this still allows a week of study leave before exams.

We also recognise that for some of our Years 11-13 students, they will have successfully completed their NCEA programme before that date. For these students their last day of term will be Tuesday 2nd November. This will be done in consultation with their parents/caregivers. If you think your young person will qualify for finishing on the 2nd November please contact Sharyn Varcoe, Deputy Principal Years 7-13 via email sharyn@oxford.school.nz
