Shave for A Cure

Sharyn Varcoe —

Oxford Area School is shaving for a cure on Thursday 2nd July. Led by one of our Year 12 students, Liam Bamford, we are supporting this worthy cause in 2020.

Leukaemia is the most prevalent childhood cancer and lymphoma is one of the most common cancers amongst 15 to 24 year olds. It’s likely that you might know someone living with one of these diseases and shaving shows solidarity with those going through treatment. Money raised through "Shave for A Cure" goes towards continuing to grow Leukemia and Blood Cancer services which provide practical support, information, and education for families living with these diseases.

As well as the actual event, there will be a whole school Crazy Hair Mufti Day on 2nd July and a range of activities in the lead up.

If your young person wishes to join the other students and staff having their head shaved they need your permission. Permission forms can be picked up at school reception and must be returned by Monday 29 June.
