Kia ora koutou katoa

Last weekend interviewing for our new Deputy Principal Year 1-6 was held. Presently Lesley Inch has been our Acting Deputy Principal in this role after Jacqui Paterson sadly left us at the end of term 2.

This position is a very important role within our school’s Senior Leadership team. The person must be an inspirational and innovative leader, and have a commitment to the wider school and community. These are just some of the attributes we were looking for when interviewing.

We interviewed some very strong applicants and anyone of them would have been capable to fill this position but the right fit for our school and community was the overriding factor in fulfilling this role.

Lesley Inch applied for this permanent role which we acknowledge must have been very daunting being interviewed by work colleges and people you know. After a lot of deliberating, we had great pleasure in announcing Lesley as the new Deputy Principal Years 1-6. Lesley has been a huge asset within our Senior Leadership team acting as Assistant Principal over the last couple of years and filling in as Acting Deputy Principal for both Years 1-6 and Years 7-13 in recent times. Her knowledge, organisationally skills, commitment and leadership skillset will continuously see us well into the future. A huge congratulations Lesley.

With what I guess you can call a trying term, with Covid making a nuisance of itself, it is probably of some relief we are getting a break to recharge the batteries. I hope you all enjoy the 2 week break, make the most of our surroundings and see you fresh to start term 4.

Ngā mihi
