Children in Years 4/5/6 lead intercultural exchanges via Zoom.

This week our students have had the opportunity to be involved in an art lesson with a Chinese school in Chongzhou Quyi China. The school sent us art materials including special traditional brushes and ink. After linking up live on Zoom, we performed a short Powhiri to welcome the Chinese students to our school. We were guided through a painting session by an expert art teacher from China. We were shown how to paint a Panda using a traditional style of painting.

We finished off by showing each other our final paintings and by taking photos of each others work. The children were so thrilled to be part of this exchange and some were given the chance to ask some questions about school in China. We are lucky to have the opportunity to have these exchanges and we are all looking forward to the next one.
