Week 6, Term 4

Tēnā koutou katoa,
Greetings family and friends of our school
An update on the school uniform
In 2022, our school embarked on a journey of consultation to make some exciting changes to our school uniform. This year served as a transition period, allowing both the old and new uniforms to be accepted at school. We are thrilled to share that based on a student survey, we found that 85% of students in years 1-6 and 75% of students in years 7-11 already have some or all of the new uniform! We've reported this amazing progress to the Board as we monitor the rollout of the new uniform. Rest assured, we've also informed our suppliers about this positive update to ensure they have enough stock for the upcoming year. As we look ahead, we are excited to fully embrace the new uniform, as the old one will soon be phased out. We are still conscious of the cost of living and continue to provide cost-effective uniform options. Please reach out to us if you require some support to get the new uniform together for 2024. We are hopeful that the second-hand uniform market will gradually increase as uniform items are replaced. Let's celebrate this fantastic progress together!

Cybersafety
We are excited to announce that John Parsons from Citizen 21 is returning to our kura to share his insights on cyber safety. John has been empowering students and parents up and down the country about this very important subject.
John will be working with all of our students and teachers on Monday 27th November. John will be presenting in the evening to parents and caregivers - all community members are welcome. This evening presentation will follow our Rau Whetū celebration so why not make an evening of it and attend the two events?
Watch this space as more details emerge.
Kia pai tō rā whakatā | Have a great weekend,
