The Top of the South Island (TOSI) team trials were held in Murchison on Sunday 5th and Monday 6th May 2019. Oxford Area School had 12 students attend these trials for basketball, netball, volleyball and rugby teams.

The level of competition was high as these teams are all open age (Under 19), so it is an excellent achievement to be selected.

Five students were selected for teams:

Liam Bamford – Basketball

Eli Crew – Basketball

Jacob Paulin – Rugby

Ashley Riley – Basketball/Netball

Liam Corson – Basketball (non-travelling reserve)

These students will now play in teams representing the Top of the South Island at the NZ Area Schools’ Sports Tournament to be held in Rotorua from July 8th – July 11th. Please support their fundraising endeavours over the coming weeks.

Thanks to Cam Paulin, Mike and Naomi Crew and Steve Bamford for transporting and supporting their children at the trials.

A special acknowledgement and thanks to a parent Juddy Taylor, who drove a group of students in the van and was the Manager of these students in Murchison.
