RYDA

PNGHS —

On Wednesday 22 March, the PNGHS Year 12 student cohort headed to the CET Arena to attend the RYDA Road Safety Education Programme.

The day was very beneficial as we learnt about relevant aspects of driving, and tools to stay safe as drivers and other road users.

In groups, we each attended six workshops of varying content regarding road safety, including: the identification of crash factors, predicting and accommodating of other road users’ actions, the relationship between speed and being in a position to stop, ways to reduce distractions, and the importance of car safety features.

We really appreciated the engagement and enthusiasm from the RYDA facilitators who taught us really informative, relevant things to think about and use to build into our experiences as road users and drivers.

I’d like to say thank you on behalf of Year 12 to all of the RYDA staff and sponsors for providing a really interactive, useful programme, and also a big thank you to Mrs Gibbs, Ms Brookie and all of the teachers who helped us out and made the day possible.
