The choir has had a very busy start to the term. In week one, they participated in a workshop by visiting clinician Michaela Cadwgan.

Michaela is an opera singer, voice teacher and choir director based in Wellington. She worked with them on refining their competition pieces. 

Last week the choir travelled to Whanganui for two days of competition, workshops and rehearsals at the lower North Island ‘Cadenza’ Finale. Cantatrices was selected for this after winning the regional Big Sing competition.  

It was an intensive two days and the event finished with a Gala Concert.  The choir received a Korimako Award for the competition.  Congratulations to everyone involved and a big thank you to Mrs Smith and Ms Joe for all their hard work preparing the choir for the event.

This week, the choir performs for Takaro Probus Club. This performance was rescheduled after the Covid lockdown last year resulted in cancellation.
