Commerce Careers Event - 8 July 2022
Presenters from the Community Inspire and Educate Students at PNGHS
On 8 July 2022, 80 students attended the Careers in Commerce event in the Huia Centre – where they heard career stories from six speakers from our local community. Students were also given a pizza lunch, a donut and several students won spot prizes at the event.
Our thanks to the speakers who gave up their time to share their career stories - five of the speakers were past students at Palmerston North Girls’ High and it was a real privilege to hear their career stories.
The key messages from the speakers were that having a successful career and employment journey involves communication, conversation and collaboration. Having empathy and developing positive relationships are extremely important and students were reminded that if they love what they do, they will never work another day in their lives.
