International Students' Trip to Rotorua

PNGHS —

Fourteen international students from PNGHS and thirteen from PNBHS had a memorable time in Rotorua.

On the first day, we experienced the gondola and luge at the Skyline Rotorua. Students said that it was very thrilling to race down the track. When we were about to leave, it started to rain. Even though it rained, the view from the gondola at night was fascinating.

On the second day, in the morning, we visited the Kuirau Geothermal Park and enjoyed some delicious food at the Saturday market. In the afternoon, we went to ride the ziplines. It was our favourite activity. We could see a lot of New Zealand native trees and beautiful waterfalls. Every student loved the view while riding. It was a great time to feel the nature of New Zealand. After dinner, we went to the Redwoods Forest. The walk was relaxing and healing. There were a lot of pretty lanterns and tall trees. We got to enjoy the view and walk with our friends. We would love to come here in the daytime next time because we think it will give a different impression.

On the day we returned home, we stopped at the Huka Falls in Taupo. The water was so powerful that we could hear the cool sound of water flowing loudly. The water was a light emerald colour that delighted us all. It was a wonderful place to end our trip.

The trip was a great bonding time for us, international students. It brought us closer and helped us get to know each other better. We would love to go again next year. Thanks to Ms Brookie and Miss Lina who always looked after us and gave us the opportunity to go on the trip.
