RYDA - Road Safety Education Limited for Year 12 students

PNGHS —

Year 12 students have been given the opportunity to attend the award winning one day RYDA Road Safety Education Programme.

RYDA is designed for 15-17 year olds as they begin to drive or ride in cars driven by their peers. The programme focuses on attitude and awareness with the aim of equipping young adults to stay safe on our roads. This programme is not just for drivers, but young people as passengers too. The feedback from students and staff last year was very positive.

Cost:  $15
Date:  Wednesday 18 March from 8:45am - 1:30pm (students are not required to return to school)
Venue:  Central Energy Trust Arena
Dress:  Students wear correct school uniform

Please pay the accounts office by Friday 6 March. This trip is covered by the EOTC permission form.

RYDA delivers six interactive sessions aimed at exploring crucial aspects of travelling safely, combining the efforts of local road safety experts/educators and recovering survivors of road crashes. There is an activity booklet to be completed on the day requiring the use of a pen.

A teacher will be present at each workshop. Students are required to bring their own lunch and drinks, they will not be able to leave the venue during the day.

Details of the programme can be found at www.rse.org.nz.
