Senior Business

Year 12 Business has worked very hard this year to develop their business products and meet the deadlines set by Young Enterprise.
The Young Enterprise Regional Awards were held on 22 October at Massey University.  We were extremely proud of the following awards:

Custom Casez received an award for “Excellence in Promotion”

This business team produced personalised phone cases, that are embossed with up to three initials on the back of the cases. The cases are available in black or pink and this company has successfully sold all the stock that they imported and distributed. They learned how to produce a professional quality product which was competitively priced and in high demand.

Congratulations to the following team members:

Keely Ward 12HT, CEO, Communications

Grace Zimmerman 12DS, Productions

Grace Sturgess 12HT, Finance

Bella Hay 12HT, Sales and Marketing

WTR received an award for “Innovation”.

This business team produced a water bottle that is flat – that makes it innovative and easy to store and use. The A5 size fits into the door of a car and even into handbags. This useful and unique water bottle generated a lot of interest within and outside our PNGHS community.

Congratulations to the following team members:

Breanna Cheetham 12WE, CEO, Productions

Leah Wilton 12DS, Communications

Gabriella King 12HB, Finance

Georgia Morris-Rickard 12BH, Sales and Marketing

Mrs Stephanie Hunter was nominated for the Sir James Fletcher Award for Most Inspiring Teacher, and her students indicated that “she is always willing to help, and brings a positive and fun outlook” to her teaching. Our thanks to Mrs Hunter and Miss Ford for the support given to Year 12 Business students - as they experience the successes and challenges of entrepreneurship and working in a team environment.

NZCETA Commerce Shield

In 2020 Commerce Economics Teachers’ Association Manawatu (NZCETA), introduced a competition for Year 11 Accounting and Economics students. The shield was awarded for the first time this year - there were 250 students who participated across the region by doing a KAHOOT Quiz in both subjects.

Congratulations to Jaweria Ahmer, 11HR who won the competition overall, by completing the majority of the questions correctly. Her speed and knowledge of the subject was impressive.
