In the last few years we have moved as a school towards a more dynamic student reporting model and become less reliant on the traditional produced report as our only means for reporting home. We are ready for the next stage in this development.

There will no longer be a report collated but rather a collection of learning comments published on the Kamar Portal by the subject teachers throughout the year at relevant and meaningful times for the subject. At a minimum, this will be a comment for every subject, every term. The comments are as you would expect in a report, they are just not collated in a report format and there is no one set time to look at them. The rationale for this change is about timeliness, relevance and flexibility. Information will be updated regularly, in a manner to suit the individual subjects and there should be no surprises at the end of the year when it is too late to make changes. As we build this information sharing platform, the Portal will become a natural first step to check on how your young person is doing.

The Parent Portal is also an excellent way for parents, caregivers and students to see other information and to update their details. The following is available there:

Groups – a list of groups, teams, committees your daughter is a member of

We encourage you to check the portal on a regular basis.

Please check all details are correct, in particular addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and emergency contacts. You can request details to be updated, within the ‘Details’ tab, and clicking on the ‘Edit Details’ button.

The Parent Portal login is found at the top of the school website page. Login details are sent out at regular intervals during the year but if you have forgotten yours or experiencing difficulty in logging in please contact our KAMAR Administrator, Lesley Anderson l.anderson@pnghs.school.nz and she can assist you. The Parent Portal is increasingly one of our key communication/information tools and we encourage all whānau to use it.
