International Languages Week
Kia ora, Salut, Konnichiwa!
During Week 7, Palmerston North Girls’ High School celebrated International Languages Week. Across the school, there was recognition and appreciation of the 20+ languages spoken by students around the school. In our various language classes, students celebrated with international movies and lunches in celebration of different cultures. My committee and I organised a small event for the whole school to get involved in to encourage participation in International Languages, planning a ‘Questionnaire Scavenger Hunt’, where students could find a question, answer it, and win a chocolate prize! The event was a hit and we had an amazing turnout with almost 30 students answering and winning prizes! It was a very enjoyable week for all the students involved and was a relaxing break from all the stress of Term 2.
