Our friends Dame Suzie Moncrieff and Heather Palmer from World of WearableArt commenced their judging, and were pleased to let us know that the following students from PNGHS, have won the following national awards:

2nd Place - The Waste of Science/Charlotte Davies
National Finalist - Out of the Bush/Sophia Pinkney

Feed-forward from WOW:The Waste of Science:
Visually striking and balanced, and looks to be well constructed; imaginative use of materials and ideas; a great approach to the Futuristic theme

Out of the Bush:
We enjoyed the attention to detail on this garment i.e. the flower on the back, use of the wood strips to create the skirt and the weaving for the waistband and shoulder straps; simple and effective design.

Prizes:
As Top 10 placers, both Charlotte and Sophia have won a brand new sewing machine from Bernina!

Showquest received over 225 entries from around the country, our biggest year yet. Every student involved should be very proud of what they created - WOW had a near impossible task on their hands narrowing down the Top 10. There were some sensational garments created.This is a fantastic achievement and a big congratulations to both Charlotte and Sophia.
