Innovation Challenge and Silent Auction
Year 11 Commerce were given the challenge to produce ONE innovative product to be auctioned to parents and caregivers on 12 November. Congratulations to these students who won the award for the most sustainable.
Students worked collaboratively in groups to design and produce the products. They demonstrated the ability to be innovative, inclusive, focused and determined.
Thank you to the parents and caregivers who supported this event with great enthusiasm and encouraged and supported the students, as they walked around talking to the groups and viewing the products, and placing bids on the products.
The total collected was $1,353 and the items that received the highest bids were:
$170 - three rimu chopping boards
$110 - pallet towel holder
$100 - christmas wreath
$100 - painted coffee table
$85 - flow table
$80 - wooden lazy susan
$75 - tui feeder
$70 - denim tote bag
$67 - wooden christmas tree
The other products that were produced included: a denim tote bag,record clock, kintsugi, heat packs, Diptych painting, wooden christmas tree, plate cake stand, flower twine bottles, flow table, record side table, cushions with alpaca filling, seashell christmas tree, flower bottles, dog toys, christmas decoration ball and shell wineglass jewellery holder.
