This year the annual Palmerston North Girls High School School Ball took place on Saturday 15 May at the Distinction Hotel and was themed around Aphrodite's Garden.

There were 330 in attendance and the response was overwhelmingly positive from both students and teachers alike with most who attended seeming to enjoy themselves. 

The Event Management committee which consists of Tiara Anderson-Potter, Gabby Clark, Emma Durston, Kezia Gowan, Lauren Gray, Emily Gunn, Kelsey Hannon, Julia Humphries, Bethany Mitchell, Van Nguyen, Rakshithaa Rajeshkumar, Shanay Rossiter and myself alongside the amazing guidance from Mrs Gibbs decided on the theme decorations and invitations for the event. A special mention should be made to Kelsey Hannon who created the overall design for the invitations and to Mrs Gibbs for planning the behind the scenes details that made the night. Thanks also to the caterers for the amazing food, security, DJ’s and especially the teachers, without them this event would not have been able to run so smoothly. 

To help bring this night to life ImageGroup provided a large portion of the decorations including the pillars and lighting which really helped the room to come to life. Coupled with the table pieces that we made, this really cemented the theme and made it feel special. Many in attendance utilised the photo booth and the professional photographer that were available and this resulted in some great memories being captured. Overall, the event was a huge success and ran smoothly with few hitches. Even the pack up was smooth and with help from volunteers made the process go by much quicker. 

All in all the event was a success and we hope everyone enjoyed themselves!
