Meeting our goals of Design Quality Learning Spaces

At the end of Term 4 2020 we began a much needed and welcomed project that involved the installation of up to 99 air conditioning units school wide.

This project has been in the making for almost five years and has certainly presented some challenges along the way.

The school is working towards the Design Quality Learning Spaces requirements for the four environmental factors that the Ministry of Education have published and the Government wish schools to be compliant by 2030.

The four environmental quality factors are; acoustics, lighting and visual comfort, indoor air quality and thermal comfort. So far we have ticked two of these boxes with the installation of LED lighting in 2018 and now the control over thermal comfort with the AC units. We will be decommissioning a number of 25yr old gas heaters.
