Wet Lunch Rooms

by PNGHS

This term, since returning from lockdown, we have trialled a new school wide approach to wet weather days. The trial has now finished and we will implement the changes longer term with some minor changes. Throughout the year, students who are not participants in an official school activity which is supervised by teachers, are expected to be at outside both at interval and lunchtime, unless it is wet or the weather is extremely cold. Wet or cold weather days are signalled by two rings of the bell at the start of interval or lunchtime. Each year level has designated indoor spaces they may use on these days. These spaces are in non-specialist classrooms. Ongoing use of these rooms by students is subject to them demonstrating our school values of whakaute (respect) and whakatangata (social responsibility) around the disposal of rubbish, moving furniture and tidying the space. As part of this policy, we are investigating the installation of more outdoor seating to offer a greater range of seating options around the campus.

Sharing learning information with parents

by PNGHS

A good way to keep in touch with your young person’s progress is using our KAMAR Parent Portal. Information details of assessment results and progress in subjects is found in this Portal and by the end of this term every subject will have added a learning comment to keep you up to date. The Portal replaces the traditional report format and gives you a look at achievement that is closer to real time. The Parent Portal access can be found on the school webpage (www.pnghs.school.nz) and details on how to access this portal have been sent to emails. If you have questions about logging in please email: Lesley Anderson: KAMAR Administrator Email Address: l.anderson@pnghs.school.nz
