Visit to the Waikato University Coastal Marine Field Station

Mrs Bronwin Severinsen - Careers Coordinator —

Recently Year 12 student Brianna Dalziell-Froude visited the Coastal Marine Field Station in Sulphur Point with Careers Coordinator Mrs Bronwin Severinsen.

Brianna wants to study Marine Biology and has already found an area she would like to specialise in.

Bronwin and Brianna were shown around the Station by Professor Chris Battershill, Dean of the Faculty of Science for Waikato University.

The 1000 sqm Marine Field Centre facility was officially opened in November last year. It is the first in New Zealand to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure for seaweed cultivation. The photos are of pools for germination and growing seaweed.
