The 2023 Sports Camp at Totara Springs was an opportunity for selected Awa Learning Common students to showcase their skills and compete against other schools in a wide range of sports.

The camp ran from Monday 8 May until Thursday 11 May with 35 of our Year 9 and 10 students taking part. The competition was fierce, but our students showed their grit and determination throughout the week.

There were 12 major sports, including athletics, basketball, volleyball, netball, soccer, hockey, swimming, cricket, table tennis and touch rugby. The results were impressive, our students made 11 out of 12 semifinals in the major sports and went on to compete in 8 out of 12 finals which was a remarkable achievement. 

Overall, our students competed in 30 events and made 22 finals. Our students not only demonstrated their athletic abilities, but they also showed great sportsmanship and respect towards their opponents.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their outstanding performance at the 2023 Sports Camp. They represented our school with distinction and showed that hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude can lead to great success.
