We are very excited to be opening the new college library to students in 2024. Meanwhile, the Pāpāmoa College eLibrary offers an extensive range of Digital audiobooks and Ebooks for students to enjoy over the summer holidays.

Summer Reading is an important, enjoyable activity that students can do during the holidays to help avoid the 'Summer Slide' in reading achievements gained during the school year.

Students can also access the library through the Wheeler Books App on Apple or Google Play.

All of our library books now offer an 'Immersive Reader' audio function. Simply borrow a book online, select 'Read', go to a text page, then click the 'Immersive Reader' logo in the top toolbar, a play button with speed settings will appear at the bottom of the page:

Within Immersive Reader, you can also click on the Reading Preferences Icon to translate words (or the entire document) into over 125 different languages!

Audiobooks are great for long car journeys. Reluctant readers can enjoy the story no matter what their ability or the whole family can listen together.

Some practical ideas and tips:

• Make sure your devices are charged before you get comfy
• Download books in Wi-Fi spaces or before you go camping with unstable connections
• Use the ‘Settings Wizard’ comfort reading options to suit your needs.
