Our Mufti Day on Friday 16 June, was dedicated to raising funds for Kai Aroha, a local charity that provides free meals to those in need.
Founded in 2016 by Mrs Tania Lewis-Rickard, our Visual Arts Curriculum Leader, along with her husband Tawhai and their extended whānau, Kai Aroha serves as a compassionate response to homelessness and poverty within our community.
Tania and her team offer meals and kindness to anyone in need every Monday night from 5.30pm at St Paul's Church, 242 Dickson Road, Pāpāmoa. With their unwavering commitment, Kai Aroha has become a beacon of hope, providing nourishment and support to individuals and families facing challenging circumstances.
Kai Aroha is about whānaungatanga, a place of connection where you can feel a sense of belonging. Kai Aroha is for whānau and individuals to meet and interact with others in their community and sit together to eat kai and a cuppa tea. Nau mai haere mai whānau, we welcome you all.
We raised a whopping $1856.60 from the Mufti Day that went directly to Kai Aroha, supporting them to continue their work within our community.
