Welcome to Papamoa College 2020!

I hope that you and your family have had a good summer holiday and have managed to make the most of the beautiful environment we live in. Welcome back to those returning students and a very special welcome to all our new students and their families. We look forward to getting to know you and working with you over this next year.

The powhiri held on Wednesday 29 January was a great occasion to welcome all new students, whanau and staff to Papamoa College. We were once again privileged to have Nga Potiki (iwi) kaumātua involved with the powhiri. The school has a strong and positive relationship with Nga Potiki and this will continue throughout the year.

We are continuing to receive new enrolments at Reception from those students and whanau who live within the school zone. We are expecting to have approximately 1500 students enrolled this year, up from 1400 in 2019.

10 new teachers have been appointed (see New Staff) in response to the student roll growth and staff leaving at the end of 2019 to accept promotions and/or moving away from the Bay of Plenty. We are excited to have our new staff join us, who will bring new skills and expertise to Papamoa College. The beginning of year for students and their whanau can be exciting but also an unsettling time. We are all here to ensure that the start of the year is as smooth as possible for everyone.
