Pre-season camp at Maketu

Preseason Rugby

Mr Marc Lambert - Teacher —

The Pāpāmoa College 1st XV rugby team's preseason training began in earnest during Term 1, culminating in a two-day camp at Maketu. The camp featured a series of physical challenges and team development activities aimed at preparing the team for the upcoming season.

Throughout the preseason, the team focused on building skills and connections. Training sessions have been very productive, with players and coaches working together to grow an exciting young team.

The Maketu camp provided an opportunity for the team to push their limits and strengthen their bond. As the camp came to a close, the team emerged feeling stronger and more unified. With the preseason behind them, they are now ready to tackle the challenges of the upcoming season with determination and resolve.

The boys have started the season with mixed results, with a historic win against Rotorua boys 2nd XV and a strong win against classic rivals, Rototuna.

They will play this King's Birthday weekend for 5th place against Rotorua 3rd XV at Pāpāmoa College.
