Local Explorations

Mr Nick Leask | Deputy Principal —

On Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 March, our Year 7 & 8 students embarked on off-site learning adventures around the Bay Of Plenty.

As part of their learning for our Term 1 Inquiry, they explored the unique history, geology, geography, and utilisation of each location, at the following significant places:

Gordon Carmichael Reserve - Kūkūwai (Wetlands)
Otanewainuku Scenic Reserve - Ngāhere (Forest)
Mauao - Tātahi (Coast)
Maketu Estuary - Pūahatanga (Estuary)

This hands-on learning experience aligns with our Science and Social Science curriculum, providing a holistic and immersive education for our students.

Let's celebrate their curiosity, exploration, and the valuable knowledge they've gained!
