Joshua Jacob - 2020 Head Boy

Joshua Jacob Y13 —

Kia Ora Koutou, my name is Joshua Jacob and I am the Head Boy for 2020. As a year 8 my family moved to Papamoa back in 2015 and it’s exciting to look back now, to see how much the school has grown in diversity, sport and other extracurricular activities. I am proud of the college and all the milestones we have achieved. My goal this year is to represent our college to the best of my ability and to show that Papamoa College should be the school of choice here in Tauranga.

Our leadership team has always worked hard to create opportunities for students to step into productions; sports teams, clubs and leadership roles, just to name a few. By selecting a wide range of leaders with strengths in their own individual areas, we are able to support and help other students in these exciting extracurricular activities. Working with such a diverse team helps to grow the school's community across the school, and thus boosting our culture which is a real goal for me this year.

Bridging that gap between the different year groups at our school is another goal of mine this year. Utilising our young leaders is something that I am passionate about, allowing them to learn from the mistakes we made as younger students to hopefully help them strive to be senior leaders later on.

‘Putting your best foot forward’ is a message that I am preaching this year, to get all students on board and help out in our growing community!
