We’re excited to announce that the 2024 Year 7/8 Athletics Day will be held on Tuesday 12 November. In case of rain, we’ll reschedule for Wednesday 13 November.

Here’s what you need to know:

Year-Level Groupings: Each group is organized by year, gender, and Waka house:

• Year 7 Boys A – Tainui / Te Arawa

• Year 7 Boys B – Mataatua / Tākitimu

• Year 8 Boys A – Tainui / Te Arawa

• Year 8 Boys B – Mataatua / Tākitimu

• Year 7 Girls A – Tainui / Te Arawa

• Year 7 Girls B – Mataatua / Tākitimu

• Year 8 Girls A – Tainui / Te Arawa

• Year 8 Girls B – Mataatua / Tākitimu

Event Stations: Competitive and Non-Competitive Options: Each station will have two activity tracks:

1. Competitive: Students compete for Champion points and can qualify for the BOP Athletics Champs.

2. Non-Competitive: Designed for fun, with opportunities to earn Waka points.

Student Attire: Students should wear either their Mana Waka colours or PE shorts and PE T-shirt. Hats are encouraged to help protect from the sun.

Schedule for the Day: (see attached)

• The first event starts promptly at 9:00 AM.

• Students should arrive at school as usual, go to their Period 1 class where attendance will be taken, then change into their athletics attire.

• After getting changed, students will head out to the field and join their designated year-level group.
