Volleyball Term 4

PC Sport —

Its been a very busy term for our Papamoa College students that are involved in both beach and indoor Volleyball.

The Volleyball season kicked off with 8 Papamoa College teams entered into the weekly Tauranga Volleyball competitions. From this PC entered two boys and one girl's team into the BOP JNR Volleyball Champs which kicked off on Friday 1 November. All three teams played some really competitive Volleyball over the three weekends.

BOP Junior Beach Volleyball Champs was played on Thursday 21 November at Mount Main Beach. 40 students from PC competed in what was a fantastic day on and off the court.

Congratulations to the following students on placing in the respective divisions:

Year 9 Boys Div 1
2nd Willem Koning and Cameron Douglas

Year 9 Girls Div 2
1st Shara Murray and Maggie Daubney
2nd Luka Rowling and Shakiya Bartle

Year 10 Girls Div 2
1st Summer Stewart and Clara Kim

Next up was the North Island Secondary School Champs held from the 26 - 29 November at Bay Park. The Papamoa Junior A team qualified for the top 32 after their performances at the BOP Champs. This tournament was all about learning and gaining experience for our young side, with the boys finishing their week on a high winning their final game against Takapuna Grammar and ending up 5th in Division 2.

North Island Secondary School Beach Volleyball Champs capped a week of volleyball with a number of students backing up from indoor champs, again this was another great day with our PC student representing the school extremely well.

Big thank you to Ngakohu and all the managers and parents that help out during term 4.
