Enrolment Zone Changes

Papamoa College —

The school board recently accepted a proposal from The Ministry of Education to amend the College zone, following their review of the Mount Maunganui and Papamoa school enrolment schemes.

In short, the current Sandhurst Drive zone boundary will be brought east to Palm Beach Boulevard from 1 January 2022.

This now means that odd-numbered addresses on Palm Beach Boulevard will be included in the Papamoa College zone, while even-numbered addresses and any addresses west of this road will not.

The Board accepted the proposed zone amendment but strongly expressed to the Ministry of Education, their disappointment that there will be a number of Papamoa whanau who live between Sandhurst Drive and Palm Beach Boulevard, who will now be prevented from enrolling their child at Papamoa College as an in-zone student. There is, however, a provision for younger siblings of current Papamoa College students, to enrol for the next 7 years - until 2028.

The process for out of zone enrolments will continue to exist for those students who live outside of the Papamoa College zone.
