Movember
Mrs Jacki McGrath - Kaiako / Teacher - November 20, 2022
Movember is the leading charity supporting Men's Mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
Movember looks at mental health through a male lens, focusing on prevention, early intervention and health promotion. They’re working towards a world where men take action to be mentally well, and are supported by those around them.
Across New Zealand, there are more than 15,000 men living with and beyond prostate cancer. Many are dealing with serious side effects from treatment. Movember unites researchers and experts across the world to chase down breakthroughs in prostate cancer, from early detection through to diagnosis, treatment and support. And we're always steered by the question: what works for men?
At greater than 95%, the odds of survival for men with testicular cancer are better than good – but for some men, long-term treatment-related side effects, mean quality of life is severely compromised. We focus on getting these predominantly young men back to living full and healthy lives.
Congratulations to Mr Nicholas McCartin, for growing the winning 'Chopper' Mo.
The Mufti-Day raised $1000 and our staff Movember Team raised an extra $200, well done everyone!
