Message from the Principal

Mr Pere Durie - Tumuaki / Principal (Acting) —

Kia ora tātou,

Students here at the College continue to carry themselves to a high level. On Friday 26 August, we celebrated multicultural day. Students chose to dress in a wide variety of ways to represent their own cultures and whakapapa. We had traditional items such as sari, sulu and dirndl. We had moko kauae, kahoa hihi and tapa. We had South African rugby jerseys, All Black rugby jerseys, and Canadian Ice Hockey jerseys. We even had a couple of Warriors jerseys!

That same day we held a full school assembly. This was the first since 2019 thanks to COVID. It was a great chance for the whole school to come together and celebrate our students' achievements and our diversity.

We were entertained by an Indian dance troupe and a performance from the upcoming production Fame. We heard from captains of sports teams involved in the tournament week and AIMS games. We heard from students who have been competing in regional and national music competitions. We also heard about Daffodil day and students involved in the 40-hour famine.

The assembly was well led by Year 12 students Abbie Jacobs, Ariana Taute and Cameron Douglas.

Nga mihi

Pere Durie
