Congratulations to Brooke Barry Y10, and Rheet Farrar Y12 who were selected as finalists in this years Young Innovator Awards (yia!).

yia! challenged students from Western Bay of Plenty schools to come up with unique innovations that will make the world a better place. 

This year rather than focusing solely on ideas, yia! sought to know more about the people behind the ideas, such as where the idea came from, ⁠and the personal journey that inspired the idea.

Brooke's innovation 'PoolChos', turns recycled pool floaties into ponchos for kindergarten kids, you can vote for her clever idea in the Junior Section here.

Rheets' innovation "Mind Swipe" is an app to comfort those with Mental Health issues, see her great promo video and vote for her idea in the Senior Section here.
