Trash to Fashion Show WOWs!

Mr James Allen - Year 7/8 Dean —

On Thursday 28 October the Puke, Maunga, and Puna Wai Learning Communities put on a fashion show entitled "One Mans' Trash is Another Mans' Treasure".

Each unique outfit had a story with themes ranging from environmental, recycling, cultural, geographical and even one representing Covid!

"Last Terms Inquiry was definitely the most challenging. We had to put our minds together to create an incredible ensemble. But with a twist... It had to be made of pre-loved and up-cycled materials, it was called 'Ethical Fashion'.
Earths' materials are extinguishing soon if we don't do something about it, all our precious plastics, fabrics and tin will be no more .
We wanted to join the solution by making clothing out of rubbish, accessories out of litter, and spreading awareness by contributing to the cause.
By the end of the term our creations were starting to take shape, our themes and messages were starting to show, and our amazing work was finally ready to present." -Greer MacDuff Y8
